The most interesting detail is crossbow with “old-fashioned” composite bow. These were used in 15 century (one is even illustrated is Keiser’s “Belifortis”) but their depictions are rare.

Spaning belt detail

Since mine spaning belt is nearing a point of no return where the buckle must be fastened, prototyp must be selected. Looks like I will be using Code[ Manese after all, with buckle on right hip and “wrong” belt direction.

Outremer crossbows 13th century

Despite common impression that crossbow was a crusaders weapon, it was used by both sides of conflict. Muslim technology of composite bow construction significantly improved European weapons. on this illustration from William of Tyre”Histoire de l’ Outremer” both crusaders and Saracens are using crossbows probably with composite prods.
